Robbins Can’t Repeat This Time At Five Flags
The last time Hunter Robbins was at Five Flags Speedway, he was taking home the Blizzard Series trophy.
This time, Robbins was just lucky to take home a car in one piece.

“Brian Scott got under me and he just turned right into us, hit our right rear and caused it to go down,” said Robbins, who finished 13th. “Right after it went down, we made another lap and then we had a wreck right in front of us. We had the flat right rear and I was trying to stop for the wreck. With the flat tire, I was trying to go but it wouldn't go because we were on the rim on the right rear. I couldn't get the car to move so the pace car got around us and we got caught a lap down. We got our new tires on there and were trying to pass the leader to get our lap back, but we had a caution came out, and since we were past lap 90, we had a single-file restart.
“We had the car to win tonight and I was just riding. The car was good. We didn't change anything major on it coming into the race. We were just riding because we were saving our tires since we weren't planning on pitting. It's just that stuff that's out of our control hurt us, so we just tried to make the best of the situation.
On Saturday night, Robbins went to Mobile International Speedway and finished eighth.
“The car was good, just a little loose off the whole race. We'd start working on passing a couple cars and then something would happen and we'd fall back. We pitted about midway through the race and made an adjustment to the car and it really helped the car. We had to go to the back again and start working our way through. We just had to avoid the spins and cautions.”
The next race for Robbins will come June 2nd at Anderson Motor Speedway with the PASS South Super Late Model Series.
Hunter had a tough weekend in both Pensacola and Mobile.
