Hunter Robbins Happy With Top-10 Finish at Nashville
The last time Hunter Robbins was on the racetrack, he was sliding across the finish line, crashing into the inside wall after taking second place in the annual Rattler 250 at South Alabama Speedway.
So, after rebuilding their car, Robbins expected nothing but a front-running machine when he went to the Spring Clash 150 CRA Super Series event at Nashville’s Music City Motorplex.

All weekend long, Robbins struggled and found himself near the back of the pack.  However, when the 150-lap race was all over, Robbins left the historic Fairgrounds track feeling good about his ninth-place finish.

“We’re pretty happy,” said Robbins.  “We started 34th and to finish in the top 10 is great.  Pretty much every race we’ve been in this year we’ve been in the top 10, which is good.

“We changed everything but the seat this morning just trying to find something that fits my driving style so we could get around here a little bit better.  We pretty much did that, and I
think we had a pretty good run.  I’ve got to thank David Ray and Frankie Grill, they put something together this morning that really worked, and a big thanks to my crew for working hard to get the best run we could have.  To struggle like we did all weekend and come out with a good finish makes us all really happy.

“Plus, without the support of our sponsors like X-1R, Maui Jim Sunglasses and others, having good runs like this wouldn’t be possible.

Next, Robbins will head to Pensacola’s Five Flags Speedway for the first of the Blizzard Series events.  The track has been kind to Robbins in the past; the young driver won the annual Snowflake 100 at Five Flags just a couple of years ago.

“Hopefully we can carry this momentum that we’ve got on through the season, but hopefully we can keep it going into Pensacola.  We’re really good there, and we had a good car there at the Derby.  We’re taking this brand new GARC car down there, and I think we’re going to be a definite contender down there.  I think Pensacola’s where we’re going to get our first win.”
