Hunter Takes 10th Out of Tough Two Days at Peachstate
Sometimes, racing luck just doesn't go a driver's way. Hunter Robbins has been on both sides of the luck coin in his young career, but on Tuesday, July 3rd, the young racer had one of the race events he'd quickly like to forget.
Robbins showed up for the PASS South "Firecracker 125" at Peachstate Speedway (GA) on Monday, July 2nd and quickly noticed some mechanical gremlins. After a long night of repairs, he was back for the race at Peachstate, but things did not go a whole lot better for Robbins. Still, he and the team were able to put together a solid 10th-place finish despite all the headaches from the two days at Peachstate.

“We don’t know if we have ignition problems or a fuel problem," said Robbins. "All weekend the car has wanted to have a skip to it. So this morning we went to a parts place by Lanier at 9 and they didn’t have what we needed. So we had to go all the way to a speed shop in downtown Atlanta and we didn’t get back to the track until 1pm. We didn’t get much practice last night and we missed the first practice here today.
“We just really didn’t get enough time to tune the car to where we wanted it. We had it pretty good but with not much practice we were just kind of stuck with the changes that we wanted to try. All in all I guess it was an okay weekend, we still have to figure out what is wrong with the motor situation.
“We were just a little loose off and it was hard to pass out there. Everybody wanted to run the top and I went down low and it was just way too slick down there. It’s kind of weird everyone running the top. Everytime that I have been here people usually stick to the bottom. But this weekend everyone was at the top, but the momentum was really up there. I guess the track is just getting wore out.”
Hunter will look to regroup in the next Blizzard Series Super Late Model race on July 20th at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, FL.
