Robbins Hangs on for 10th in Pensacola
Not too often do drivers get the opportunity to race the same type of track in consecutive weekends.  Hunter Robbins had that unique opportunity in the month of June when he raced at two tracks that put the emphasis on tire management.
“We had a tough time finding the handle on our car,” added Robbins.  “We had a decent qualifying effort and we felt like we were going to have a pretty decent car, but things didn’t go our way.  We got caught up in a couple of accidents and the track was blocked and we got some damage in one of the wreck.  It was nothing too bad, but enough to slow us down a bit.”

Robbins will be taking a few weeks off before he heads to Southern National Raceway Park in Kenly, North Carolina for the Pro Cup race.  The 250-lap event will take place on Saturday, July 19th.

Fresh off his event at Myrtle Beach Speedway (SC) in the Pro Cup Series, Robbins headed to Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida and scored a 10th-place finish in the third leg of the Blizzard Super Late Model Series.

“I was actually really surprised how similar the two tracks are and yet totally different at the same time,” said Robbins.  “I think that Myrtle Beach is definitely harder to drive.  They say Pensacola is one of the hardest tracks, but I like it.”

The night started off well for Robbins, who qualified in the top ten.  However a few incidents on the track left the Alabama native fighting to hold a decent spot when the checkered flag flew.
