Bad Luck Hits Robbins at Kenly
Being in the wrong place at the wrong time can completely ruin a weekend at the race track, and Hunter Robbins knows this first hand. After working on his car at Southern National Raceway Park (NC) in practice for the USAR Hooter Pro Cup event, Robbins had his car figured out and was ready to show everyone what he had. Because of rain, qualifying was canceled, so Robbins started the race 10th.

“At the end of practice we were really happy with our car because it was really good on old tires and I felt like in race trim it was really good,” explained Robbins. “In the race, we ran pretty well. We made our pit stops early, hoping track position was going to be key and we could cycle back up to the front.”
After making his pit stop, Robbins made his way back through the field, getting closer and closer to the top ten, until he was caught up in an accident involving lapped cars.
“We just got caught up with a couple of lapped cars and got put into the wall," explained Robbins. "It’s frustrating because it messed the car up bad enough to where we couldn’t get back out there and keep racing to get more points. It hurt our car pretty good."
Because the car wasn’t repairable, Robbins was done for the day with a 25th-place finish.
The next race in the Hooters Pro Cup Championship Series will be at Rockingham Speedway (NC) on Saturday, November 1st.
